TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Last Updated: September 4, 2026
Welcome to Objects of a Muse. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and your purchase of
products from Objects of a Muse. By accessing our website, placing an order, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.
Please read them carefully before making a purchase.
1. ABOUT OBJECTS OF A MUSE
Objects of a Muse is an independent brand offering thoughtfully made journals, leather goods, journal accessories, and other objects designed for everyday rituals. Throughout these Terms, “Objects of a Muse,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the business operating this website. “You” and “your” refer to visitors, customers, and users of the website.
2. USE OF OUR WEBSITE
You may use our website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the website, or use our content, products, or services for unlawful or fraudulent purposes. We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel orders, or restrict access to the website when reasonably necessary, including in cases of suspected fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.
3. PRODUCTS & HANDMADE VARIATIONS
Many Objects of a Muse pieces are made or finished by hand and may incorporate natural materials, including leather. Because of the nature of handmade goods and natural materials, variations in color, grain, texture, markings, dimensions, stitching, finish, and other characteristics may occur from piece to piece. These variations are part of the individual character of each object and are not necessarily considered defects. We make reasonable efforts to photograph and describe our products accurately. However, colors and appearance may vary depending on lighting, photography, screen settings, and the natural characteristics of the materials.
4. PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
Objects of a Muse may produce products in small batches or limited quantities. Products displayed on our website are subject to availability. Adding an item to your cart does not guarantee availability or reserve the item unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to limit quantities, discontinue products, modify designs, or change product availability at any time. If an item becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you and provide an appropriate refund for the unavailable item.
5. PRICING & PAYMENT
All prices are displayed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated. Prices, promotions, and product availability may change without notice. The price applicable to your purchase will generally be the price displayed when your order is submitted, subject to correction of obvious errors. Applicable taxes and shipping charges will be calculated and displayed during checkout when required. By submitting payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse an order when reasonably necessary, including where there has been a pricing or listing error or where we reasonably suspect unauthorized or fraudulent activity. If payment has already been collected for a canceled order, the applicable amount will be refunded.
6. ORDER ACCEPTANCE
After placing an order, you may receive an order confirmation. Receipt of an order confirmation does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted or shipped. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order before fulfillment for legitimate business reasons, including product unavailability, payment issues, suspected fraud, or material errors in product or pricing information. If we cancel an order after payment has been collected, we will issue a refund for the canceled portion of the order.
7. SHIPPING & DELIVERY
Processing and delivery estimates provided on our website are estimates rather than guarantees unless expressly stated otherwise. Because certain Objects of a Muse products are handmade or produced in small batches, processing times may vary. Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping information at checkout. Please contact us as soon as possible if you discover an error in your shipping information. Once an order has been transferred to a shipping carrier, circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect delivery timing. Additional information regarding processing, shipping, delivery, lost packages, and related matters may be provided in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
8. RETURNS & EXCHANGES
Returns, exchanges, cancellations, and refunds are governed by the Return & Refund Policy displayed on our website at the time of purchase. Items that are personalized, customized, made to order, or otherwise identified as final sale may not be eligible for return except where required by applicable law or where an item arrives defective or incorrect. Please review the applicable Return & Refund Policy before completing your purchase.
9. CARE OF LEATHER & NATURAL MATERIALS
Leather is a natural material that can change in appearance with time, handling, exposure to sunlight, moisture, oils, and normal use. Variations, creasing, patina, scratches, darkening, and other changes associated with natural leather and ordinary use are generally not manufacturing defects. Customers are responsible for following any care instructions provided with a product or on our website.
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise indicated, the content presented through Objects of a Muse—including our original photographs, product designs, graphics, illustrations, written copy, packaging artwork, website design elements, and other original creative materials—is owned by or licensed to Objects of a Muse and is protected to the extent provided by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, commercially exploit, modify, republish, or create unauthorized derivative works from our protected content without our prior written permission, except as permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any Objects of a Muse intellectual property.
11. USER CONTENT
If you voluntarily submit reviews, photographs, comments, testimonials, or other content to us, you represent that you have the right to submit that material and that doing so does not violate the rights of another person. If we would like to use customer photographs or other user-generated content for advertising or promotional purposes beyond the context in which it was submitted, we may request permission where appropriate.
12. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Our website may use or link to third-party services, including payment processors, shipping carriers, social media platforms, and other service providers. Those third parties may have their own terms and privacy practices. Objects of a Muse is not responsible for third-party websites or services that we do not control, except to the extent required by applicable law.
13. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
We aim to provide accurate product information and high-quality goods. However, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our website and services are provided without warranties beyond those expressly stated by us or required by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits warranties, rights, or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Objects of a Muse will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from your use of the website or purchase of our products. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
15. PRIVACY
Your use of our website is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.
16. PROMOTIONAL CODES & OFFERS
Promotional codes, discounts, gifts, and special offers may be subject to additional conditions and expiration dates. Unless otherwise stated, promotional offers may not be combined. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue promotions, subject to applicable law and any commitments already made to customers.
17. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes to our business, website, products, or legal obligations. Any revised Terms will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Changes will apply prospectively as required by applicable law.
18. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer protection laws require otherwise.
19. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
